Her presentation will discuss prioritizing actions to address exposure to PFAS. She will be joined by Paul Erickson, PhD, Vice President of Research and Development at REGENESIS.

Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering, University of St. Thomas
Ali is an assistant professor of Civil Engineering at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Her career includes nine years of consulting experience and has focused on using basic science concepts to solve complex engineering problems. Current research interests include engineered circularity, PFAS treatment and source reduction, and microbial ecology of engineered systems.
Paul Erickson, PhD
Vice President of Research and Development, REGENESIS
Dr. Paul Erickson is the Vice President of Research & Development with REGENESIS,
overseeing the commercialization of new environmental solutions to address complex
remediation challenges. In his time with REGENESIS, Dr. Erickson led the development of
a number of remediation products and technologies, including PetroFix, AquiFix, SourceStop and FluxTracer.
Dr. Erickson earned a BS degree in Chemistry from Florida State University, a
Masters in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota, and a PhD in Environmental
Chemistry from ETH Zurich. He is an author on over 20 peer-reviewed scientific
publications mainly in the area of environmental chemistry.

Taryn McKnight, VP of Product and PFAS Practice Leader for Eurofins Environment Testing (USA), has over 20 years of experience in the environmental testing industry. As one of the company’s subject matter experts on PFAS, Ms. McKnight contributes to multiple organization and agency workgroups to address PFAS challenges, including her current role as co-chair of the NGWA subcommittee to develop a white paper on PFAS Forensics. With her expertise, she provides technical guidance to clients in setting up programs to achieve their site-specific objectives, and to agencies with understanding their analytical options and data usability considerations.
