In this webinar we were pleased to have special guest speakers WSP's Matt Burns, VP and Technical Director of the Earth and Environment Practice, and Joe Ricker, Senior Technical Principal. Their presentation discussed using groundwater plume analytics to support MNA, with potential application for PFAS. They were joined by Maureen Dooley, Vice President - Industrial Sector at REGENESIS.
Highlights of this free webinar:
-
Potential applicability of plume analytics to MNA of PFAS
-
Using analytics to assess plume stability and other plume attributes, with examples from remediation sites
-
Use of colloidal activate carbon to eliminate risk of PFAS contamination in groundwater

Matt is also WSP’s U.S. technical lead for this class of compounds. He is a frequent author and lecturer on innovative investigation and remediation techniques to address metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated VOCs and emerging contaminants such as PFAS. He is a coauthor on PFAS Experts Symposium – Statements on Regulatory Policy, Toxicology, Transport/Fate, and Remediation for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) Contamination Issues. He also coauthored the follow-up article PFAS Experts Symposium 2: Statements on available in-situ remediation technologies.
Joe Ricker Senior Technical Principal, WSP Joe Ricker is a Senior Technical Principal with WSP based in Memphis, TN. For more than 27 years, Mr. Ricker has helped clients optimize a wide range of remediation solutions associated with past and present environmental liabilities under various regulatory programs in the US and globally. Mr. Ricker is the lead developer of environmental data evaluation techniques known as Groundwater Plume Analytics™ Services. Plume analytics are methodologies and techniques whereby graphical analyses and presentations are used to communicate insight into groundwater plume behavior resulting from various remediation programs. Mr. Ricker authored the Ricker Method® Plume Stability Analysis in 2008, and has subsequently developed, or co-developed additional patented plume analytics tools known as Remediation System Benefit Analysis (RSBA®), Spatial Change Indicator™, and Well Sufficiency Analysis™. Mr. Ricker is a licensed Professional Engineer in 28 states. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis.
